Game designer and writer Jan Bartkowicz recently told Eurogamer, “All I can say is we’re planning on releasing something. [The Witcher 2.0 is] not the last update for The Witcher 2. That’s what I can assure you. We still have at least one big title ahead of us in The Witcher franchise.”

In an interview with RockPaperShotgun, development director Adam Badowski further explained CD Projekt Red’s view on future DLC:

This is certainly good news for PC gamers and for those who are looking for more RPG goodness. But can gamers expect a full sequel to The Witcher 2? Bartkowicz has indicated that a continuation of some kind would be in the works:

With the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 set to arrive in the first quarter of 2012 and a possible expansion for The Witcher 2 on the horizon, it may be some time before CD Projekt Red begins production on a true sequel.

For those of you who have not yet experienced The Witcher 2, now is a good time to take the plunge as the title is for sale until October 6, 2011 on Steam for $29.90 and on GOG.com for $29.99.

The Witcher 2 is available on Windows PC and will release for the Xbox 360 in the first quarter of 2012.
