For anyone starting, it might be a surprise that there are no exclusive dodge maneuvers in the game, and that is not bad news as the game lets the players get creative. The brakes are the most useful dodging tool when done right. Hitting the brakes at the right moment slows down the dragon allowing the players to make a quick drift (in the direction of choice) and dodge away with a quick boost. However, this is basic and only helpful when facing amateur opponents, but things can get tricky while facing better ones in the arena. Fear not; the guide has them covered as well.
How To Dodge
Using the updraft or the geysers is one way to do it. Flying into an active updraft would propel the dragon upwards at high speed, requiring the player to perform a sharp upside-down turn letting any projectiles go past them. This is probably the easiest and most effective way to dodge in the game.
The second most commonly used dodge method is using the wind tunnels. The wind tunnels are caverns that act as speed ramps to get the dragon to the other side of the cliff. Entering into one helps the players lose any following projective without having to break a sweat. However, finding one or getting into one in a high-paced battle might be tricky, but it does pay off with a bit of patience.
The game also lets players get a little creative. For example, those who relish Tom Cruise’s Top Gun movies can get a little pro dragon pilot and dodge using the environment and the things it provides. The rocks, the stones, the reefs, the enemy riders, or even other projectiles can be used to avoid those that follow, but it would take a pro-level skill to get the maneuver right. It is a game, after all, and games are supposed to let players get creative!
Irrespective of all techniques mentioned above, it is vital that the players keep a constant check on the stamina bar. Most parts of controlling the dragon would use up stamina, and unless the stamina bar has enough vial to control the dragon, getting a pro-level degree in the above maneuvers would be downright useless.
