Arjun Tudu, who was one of the stars of last season’s CFL, opened the scoring with a sumptuous volley in the first half while Sanal wrapped up the points late in the second half by chipping Southern Samity’s onrushing goalkeeper Subrata Santra.
Army XI are the only side in the CFL championship round that do not have any foreigner and they proved to be too good for Southern Samity, who started with two foreigners and had one more coming off the bench in the second half.

East Bengal are back in action later today as they host Chima Okorie’s Police AC at the East Bengal club ground. In two other matches, Tollygunge Agragami take on BNR in Barasat while SAI Eastern Zone and Aryan clash in Kalyani.
