The Champions League Qualifying draw held in Nyon, Switzerland as usual provided an easy looking passage to some while making sure others have a bumpy ride. Many eyes were on Manchester United going into the draw, they emerged with an opponent who they are expected to beat in Club Brugge. However, Valencia and Lazio could face a tougher challenge when they come up against Monaco and Leverkusen respectively. Every season, one team from the Premier League who finishes 4th on the table goes into a playoff for a place in the group stages of the Champions League....

Flu season has hit most parts of the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which stated the virus has been active for around a month, and will continue to be for weeks. CDC spokesperson Kristen Nordlund told Newsweek: “This represents somewhat of an early start to the U.S. flu season,” and the earliest since 2003 to 2004. The health institute forecasts flu activity will continue to increase in the next few weeks, with a 40 percent chance that activity will peak in December, “which would be relatively early compared to most seasons,” said Nordlund....

Iowa and Michigan have reported the highest number of cases in this outbreak—12 and 7 respectively—followed by New York, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, California, North Dakota, South Carolina and Wisconsin. The infected patients vary widely in age from 1 to 81 years old, with a median age of 23. The CDC says that the first illness of the outbreak began in November 2018. Health officials have launched an investigation to determine if any other cases of salmonella are part of this outbreak....

The announcement came Friday, after 23 additional people were reported to have contracted the O157:H7 bacteria strain, bringing the total number of those affected by the outbreak up to 40 people, across 16 states. It was also noted that 28—more than half—of the people affected have been hospitalized for E. coli-related illnesses since initial reports of the outbreak came on Wednesday. “FDA and states are tracing the source of the romaine lettuce eaten by ill people,” the CDC wrote in its advisory....
